Common questions

AcctApp is built and maintained by a small Australian team. We use the software in our own business — so every feature that gets built is one we actually need. You can reach us directly at sales@acctapp.com.au and we respond to every email.
AcctApp remains fully functional — you keep complete read and write access to your data indefinitely. What stops is software updates: new versions released after your maintenance expires will not be available to you until you renew. Your data is never deleted or locked away.
Your database is a standard SQL Server or SQLite file on your own machine or network. You can take a backup at any time from Settings → Database. AcctApp runs fully offline day-to-day — it performs a brief licence verification check roughly once every 14 days (a few seconds, in the background). Your data is always yours — no cloud lock-in, no data held remotely.
AcctApp calculates BAS figures automatically and lets you record lodgment details for your own records. You lodge the actual BAS separately via the ATO Business Portal or through a registered tax agent. For STP, payroll data is submitted through a connected STP-compliant payroll engine (e.g. KeyPay).
AcctApp can import chart of accounts, contacts, and opening balances from standard CSV exports. For a full migration from another package, contact support and we can assist with the process.
A single licence includes unlimited user accounts and unlimited company entities — all in the same database, all covered by one payment. AcctApp serves the POS as a web app over your local Wi-Fi. Open it on any iPad, Android tablet, or phone — no app install required, just a browser. Connect a Square Terminal for card payments, or use Tap to Pay (NFC) on a phone with the Square app. Every sale posts a GL journal and stock movement instantly. Supported payment methods include cash, Square Terminal, EFTPOS, Afterpay, Zip, PayPal, cheque, and charge to customer account.
Yes. AcctApp has a built-in eBay connector. You can import eBay payout journals (splitting gross sales, fees, and refunds into the correct GL accounts) and import your eBay product listings directly into your inventory — including colour/size variants and images. The eBay connection uses OAuth2 and never stores your eBay password.
